The vision
As an avid music fan since I was a kid in the 90s, I've gone through many, many different stages of music consumption: from buying CDs at Tower Records, to downloading mp3s on Napster, to listening to music always available on streaming.
I came to notice that, contrary to what I would have thought, the immediate temporality And that we have today in streaming services doesn't make me listen to more diverse music but quite the opposite - I usually give in to convenience and let the streaming algorithm recommend things to me.
This causes me and I think music fans in general today to be trapped in a bubble of music that the algorithm creates for us.
To understand if I am not alone in this feeling, I conducted a survey among music lovers.

From this understanding I started my journey towards building an independent music blog, for several years, while teaching myself html, css, sass, and wordpress, I made several attempts to start a blog where I could write about music. And also to look cool and unusual.
The first finished version of it went live in 2019, and I published it with the help of my talented partner, Nadir Gil Harlap who contributed amazing illustrations.
For about a year I published articles on the blog and received positive responses, it was exciting but I felt that I was a little lonely, I began to feel that I wanted more people to publish music alongside me and for the blog to become a source of community - this was the starting point for the jukboxx app
